Garden of Eden portfolio published in Der Greif Magazine (Germany)
Today I've got the news that another German photography magazine included my photographs from Garden of Eden into their new issue, this time in the printed version. The magazine is called Der Greif .

Publications about Garden of Eden exhibition in Las Vegas media
My current show in Contemporary Arts Center in Las Vegas has got some little publications here and there.
One of them is by Janessa Kenway in Las Vegas City Life :
"ANDREZEJ MACIEJEWSKI -- Garden of EdenFor dessert, dig into the sumptuous fruit fests of old Renaissance masters. Opulent, still-life compositions of classic greats such as Henri Fantin-Latour and Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio are re-created and updated by photographer Andrzej Maciejewski. But such perfection comes at a price. Through science and chemicals, fruits become larger and new hybrids emerge. Each orange, pear and pomegranate photographed is tagged or stickered, and certified by FDA produce standards. Contemporary photographer revisits style of old masters in CAC exhibit
Down the street is a place where you can purchase tomatoes engineered to grow larger than your combined fists, and seasonal fruits no matter what the weather’s like outside. It’s your local grocery store, and to Andrzej Maciejewski it illustrates our society’s naïve approach to nature.
The Ontario-based artist contends that while the neatly arranged, mass-produced and bar-coded natural bounty of the produce section might look ideal, many characteristics such as taste and humanity have been lost somewhere between seed and supermarket.
That’s what Maciejewski hopes to demonstrate in Garden of Eden, a collection of 24 still-life color photographs on display at the Contemporary Arts Center inside the Arts Factory.
“When you look closely, or when you start tasting those vegetables or fruits, or when you look at how they are packaged and where they come from, or thinking how they are produced, it looks completely different,” Maciejewski says. “I just sort of suggest the question, ‘Are they still the same thing?’”

New Twist on Old Masters
A new art exhibit has opened featuring a new take on Old World masters.
Canadian artist Andrzej Maciejewski now has a show at The Contemporary Arts Center, 107 E. Charleston Blvd. The show titled “Garden of Eden” features recreations of master art works from Dutch, French and Italian painters of the 17th and 18th century. The works have a unique and modern twist.
The show is open through January 21. This is the second solo presentation of the series. It was first featured at a gallery in Portland. After being on display in Las Vegas, the works will also visit galleries in Texas, Florida, California, and New Jersey.
The Contemporary Arts Center is open from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
